About

Dr Phillip B. Roös PhD, is an artist, architect, author and philosopher who's creative work is deeply inspired by the rhythms, forms, and unseen patterns of the natural world. Rooted in a lifelong spiritual connection to Nature, his art practice emerges from a profound respect for Earth’s living systems and an acute awareness of humanity’s place within them.

His artistic vision is shaped by the philosophy of biophilia--the innate human affinity for Nature — and this ethos permeates every brushstroke, scroll, and sculptural form he creates. Working across mediums such as drawing, painting, sculpture, and immersive installations, Dr Roös explores the language of Nature – its spirals, fractals, flows, textures and energies —translating these into visual narratives that invite contemplation and reconnection.

His large-scale storyline scrolls, and abstract landscape works are not mere representations but meditative mappings of ecological memory and energy, revealing the hidden patterns and ancestral wisdom encoded in Earth’s surface and biological lifeforms. They often evoke both the sacredness and fragility of place, drawing on his architectural sensitivity to space, light, and movement.

As a pioneer in the theory of Nature's Pattern Language, Dr Roös brings a unique perspective to his artistic practice — one that merges science, philosophy, and spirit. His works are not only visual experiences but acts of ecological storytelling, seeking to restore the threads between people and the land, body and biosphere, spirit and place, being and belonging.
